General information about betulin
Betulin is obtained from the white part of the bark of the birch (Betula pendula L.) - the bark. Its protein is made up of a bioflavonoid of triterpene alcohol called betulin.Betulin is a white powder with a tanning, bitter taste and a characteristic bouquet odor, soluble in alcohol and other organic solvents, insoluble in water. The bioavailability of betulin is increased by digestive enzymes .Boiling betulin retains stability . The main properties of betulin are hepatoprotective, biliary, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, antimutagenic, hypocholesterolemic, antiviral, immunomodulatory, hypolipidemic, antihypoxant, gastroprotective, neuroprotective and antiseptic.Betulin is non-toxic, has no side effects, but it should be taken into consideration that betulin increases alcohol tolerance - significantly decreseas intoxicated due to enhanced hepatic detoxification capacity.Studies show that betulin has an extremely wide and sensitive range of effects on biological organisms, with no side effects.

An important property of betulin is its ability to inhibit atherosclerosis.Vessel endothelium is exposed to pathogenic microorganisms, especially viral damage. Herpes, cytomegalovirus viruses cause inflammation of the endothelium and morphological lesions, on which lipoproteins are deposited as patches Betulin inhibits viral replication and improves endothelial barrier function. A surprising finding is that betulin, at a dose of 10 mg / kg, affects the synthesis of cholesterol in the liver and lowers blood cholesterol, thus preventing the formation of atherosclerotic deposits on the walls of the arteries and helping to eliminate excess weight. The mechanism of action of this process is that betulin interacts with the blood proteins that bind sterol regulatory element binding protein (SREBPs), lowering SREBPs activity and, secondarily, lowering lipid levels in the blood.

Many studies have substantiated the effectiveness of betulin in the following cases:
• Chronic inflammation in the body.
• Long-term use of (any) medications, multiple medications.
• Fatty dystrophy of the liver, chronic and acute hepatitis A, B, С, gallstone disease.
• Oncological diseases as concomitant therapy with cytostatic drugs.
• Frequent contact with toxic substances.
• Acute hangover syndrome, need for quick “clarification”, drug intoxication.
• Lipid metabolism disorders, high cholesterol, obesity.
• Atherosclerosis, cardiovascular disorders, hypertonic disease, memory disorders caused by atherosclerosis, blood flow problems in the legs.
• Acute viral infections - influenza, herpes, cytomegalovirus infection and Roth disease.
• Immune system weakness with frequent cases of angina, pharyngitis, bronchitis.
• Skin Renewal - Betulin stimulates collagen synthesis, improves capillary circulation.
• In the case of antibiotic resistance - enhances the efficacy of the antibiotic beta-lactams and macrolites.
• For food preservation - The antioxidant action of betulin prevents food spoilage and extends its shelf life.

General information on the Icelandic lichen

Icelandic lichen (Cetraria Islandica ) is a lichen up to 12 cm high with branched lobes. It grows on sandy soils in silos, tundra and mountains. The foliage is poorly fused or does not grow at all with the substrate. It is distributed throughout the northern hemisphere and the mountains in the south.
It is widely used as a medicinal plant. Contains bitter substance - citric acid, carbohydrate - lhenenine (30-70%), essential oils, sugars and other substances.Used in medicine to promote appetite and digestion, against acute respiratory diseases, cough, inflammation of the digestive organs, etc.The Icelandic lichen has an enveloping, healing, potent antimicrobial activity, and is used as a general booster for pulmonary tuberculosis, pertussis, bronchial asthma.
The Icelandic lichen is one of the strongest natural antibiotics, and contains usinic acid , which inhibits bacterial growth. If the Icelandic lichen is dried, ground, the resulting powder can be used to treat purulent wounds and is also used in folk medicine for kidney, bladder, angina, bronchitis, furunculosis and other purulent inflammations.
The recommended dose is up to 1.5 g 3 times a day. The use in children under 12 years of age is not recommended due to the lack of adequate safety data.
